Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into decorative shapes and figures, an art which develops important skills such as focus, patience, problem-solving, creativity and more.
Did you know that Jordan has the first ORIGAMI Academy in the Middle East?
STEPS is grateful to Ahmad and all the Jordan Origami Academy team in Khilda for inviting us. Seventeen teen girls from Baqa’a refugee camp had the chance to enjoy a two-hour session of paper folding. It was captivating and we’d like to recommend it to anyone interested in learning origami or developing a new skill.
Our FUNDAY outing continued in the nearby King Hussein Park where we enjoyed the pleasant sunny weather, games and a delicious boxed lunch kindly offered by a donor. We also had the chance to meet a member of the first-ever Jordanian Olympic team who competed in Moscow in 1980. A big thank you to all who participated to make this outing possible.
STEPS’ FUNDAY events combine fun and learning and benefit underprivileged children and youth who rarely have such opportunities. Please contact us if you’d like to help out.
