Al Fawanees 2014 – Event 6

Thank you to International Community School for inviting us to use their campus for our 6th Al Fawanees iftar event of this year and for providing staff and transportation. Al Fawanees 2014 – Event 4

Our fourth Al Fawanees event took place at Jingo’s Jungle in City Mall where STEPS hosted 72 orphans from SOS Children’s Village in Tabarbur. The children had lots of fun on the rides, followed by an iftar meal, after which each child received a personalized gift with his/her name on it. Free English Language Courses

STEPS would like to thank Yarmouk Cultural Center for their generous cooperation in providing free 30-hour English courses to deserving high school students from Al Hussein refugee camp. Al Fawanees 2014 – Event 2

Our 2nd Al Fawanees event of this Ramadan month took place at Al Isra University for 100 children from Talbieh refugee camp (Ziziah) and included: sports and games, a nice meal outside under the trees, gifts, music and fun. Elixir Mime in Syrian Refugee Camp

While Elixir Mime was here in Jordan one of their programs included a three-hour workshop for Syrian refugee children at Azraq Camp, 60 miles north east of Amman. The program was coordinated with Mercy Corps. The children really enjoyed acting out songs and using props, as well as their imagination, in storytelling. Elixir Mime at International Community School

STEPS organized an Elixir Mime workshop at the International Community School, featuring mime and storytelling. The workshop started with fun exercises designed to introduce basic skills. Then the students divided into small groups to create their own original sketches, which were presented on stage to an audience of delighted parents and teachers.
