Family Assistance in Very Poor Neighborhoods

This month STEPS volunteers returned to Um Ar Rassas (near Madaba) to deliver donated items to specific families in need.

ŸŸŸ- Thanks to a donation from Pharmacy One a young diabetic boy received a blood sugar test kit (glucometer); our team took some time with his mother to explain how to use it and she was very thankful. Dr Amjad of Pharmacy One also kindly donated a laptop for Abeer, a blind girl we met in the same area (no photo).

– A group of ladies in Amman had collected for newborn baby Ikhlas so we were able to bring her a ‘treasure chest’ full of beautiful baby clothes, shoes, toys, bottles, pacifiers, baby wipes and more.

Family Kitchen volunteers collected food from 5-star hotels again this month and distributed approximately 1,600 meals. The meals included nutritious portions of fish, chicken, lamb, rice, potatoes, vegetables and bread. Photos show a few of the beneficiaries in Jabal Manara and in a bedouin village, but there were many more grateful recipients in different areas. We are thankful to each of the hotels and restaurants who participate with us in fighting against food waste.
