Eight boys and girls aged 8 to 13 years old from an orphan society in Hay Nazzal participated in an afternoon of bowling at Mukhtar Mall, where Bowling City kindly donated the use of several lanes for them to practice. First they had the chance to learn a few of the basics: how to hold the ball, how to approach and release the ball down the lane, how to keep score, etc.

After a few lively games the children were treated to lunch at Dama-Rose restaurant. While waiting to be served each one had a chance to complete a jigsaw puzzle, which turned out to be the first time for most of them.

After lunch the team went downstairs to Optikos Shami where the children had a basic eye test, as part of STEPS’ health awareness program aimed at early detection of optical problems.

Many thanks to all those involved for helping the children to have a fun day, which was both useful and enjoyable.
