As part of the Yalla Niqra / ‘Let’s Read’ initiative, made possible by its main sponsor Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation’s 2018 Grant, we had the chance to donate an additional 125 books to Al Huda Center in Jabal Nuzha (Amman) where we had established a library 3 years ago.
Ten of the new books introduce Simple Science Experiments, so STEPS volunteers organized a FUNDAY to gather children and demonstrate some of these experiments. This was not only a lot of fun but also served the double purpose of teaching some basic science and showing the children how entertaining learning from books can be. This was followed by games and arts-and-craft.
