Al Humayma is a village situated 55 km North of Aqaba, on the highway from Amman. We visited there last August and learned of the lack of books for children.
Thanks to the support of various donors we were able to return this month and present a Let’s Read program at the Ladies’ Charitable Society. Volunteers Luzan, Rasha and Sajeda were joined by 32 local children who enjoyed interactive games designed to promote the joy of reading.
We donated a library of 145 books, covering fiction, non-fiction & general knowledge, as well as two cookery books by TV chef Manal Al Alem, donated by the author.
This is the 8th library of the Let’s Read / يلا نقرأ program in Jordan.
