Thanks to Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation’s 2018 grant as our main sponsor, STEPS launched the second of seven new Yalla Niqra / ‘Let’s Read’ libraries, with the tremendous help of volunteers Luzan, Rasha, Hassan and Islam. Rahma Atallah also volunteered to join the event and provided us with great photo and video coverage.

This library is located at the Tahfeez Association for Leadership and Development in the Irbid governorate, and contains over 160 Arabic titles for children, including stories and non-fiction. All the books are carefully selected to be attractive, age-appropriate and culturally relevant.

During the launch 32 children joined in fun, interactive reading sessions which earned them the title of Reading Pioneers. Each Pioneer now has assignments to complete before our follow-up visit in a few weeks when prizes will be distributed.
