The 7th of seven Yalla Niqra / ‘Let’s Read’ libraries has been launched! Thank you to the main sponsor, Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation’s 2018 grant, for helping to promote the joy of reading in this way!
All seven Yalla Niqra / ‘Let’s Read’ libraries are located outside the capital where the need is greatest and are spread out over seven different governorates. This latest one opened at the Jordanian Healing and Health Bank in Ruseifeh in the Zarqa governorate.
Thirty children took part in fun reading games and were introduced to the 160 fiction and non-fiction books which are now available for them to borrow.
The STEPS team of Luzan, Rasha, Mahmoud and Abed gave the children assignments for which prizes will be distributed during our follow up visit. Volunteers Hedaia and Michael also came to give a hand.
Thank you also to Canary Confectionery Factory for their regular supply of tasty treats for the children.
